Black is still cool

I think out of all the colours, black is the most worn but the least liked. It seems to be the go-to colour if you’re uninspired¬† or just don’t feel like making much of an effort. It’s comforting in a way, I suppose.

I’ve come to appreciate black though, because of my collection of over-the-top shoes. In most settings, I can only wear the stand-out shoes with a toned down outfit, and black fits the bill nicely. Black is also a nice sort of blank canvas for powerful hats, jewellery and belts, if the situation (such as work) means that you can’t go all out on the ‘personal styling eccentricity’.

However, black can be made so interesting by using texture, volume, shape, proportion and so many other methods, like this collection of pictures shows. I hope you find them inspiring.
